At Linguage Japanese School, we also offer classes for job hunting and business. How was your experience with them?

Linguage Japanese School offers a lot of classes that are helpful for job hunting and business, but I think the best one was Akatsuka-sensei’s business manners course. The class was very interesting and informative. As someone with many years of experience working at a Japanese company, Akatsuka-sensei provided very helpful explanations with a smile. It made a lasting impression, and I don’t think I’ll forget what I learned.

Did you do anything to maintain your motivation to find a job in Japan?

I had been interested in Japanese culture for a long time, so I decided to work in Japan as a means to learn more about the Japanese culture and way of life. Your perspective may be different depending on where you are from but, the job search in Japan can be very unpleasant. So, it’s important to remember what motivated you to come to Japan in the first place. Not only that, the job search, namely, applying to jobs and going through interviews and the like, is very different from everyday life and work. That’s true no matter what country it is so grit your teeth, get through the process, and once you’ve made it through, start the life you’ve been dreaming about! It is absolutely possible.

Message to those with a dream of “I want to work in Japan”

So, you love anime and manga and have decided to study in Japan. Just so you know, real life Japan doesn’t come with subtitles! The subtitles on TV are a sight to behold, though. Jokes aside, studying abroad in Japan is a great dream. Please come and study! However, I will say this. While Shibuya and Shinjuku are cool in their own right, once you’ve grown tired of the crowds, venture out and explore Japan! There are so many wonderful people and places waiting in the lesser known parts of Tokyo and beyond.
